Reggae Sunsplash pageant returns to Jamaica

Jamaica’s ground-breaking Reggae Sunsplash pageant returns this weekend for the first-ever digital staging of the occasion that includes a particular tribute honouring the late reggae icon, Dennis Emmanuel Brown.

The Dennis Brown tribute will air throughout the first night time of the web pageant, which begins streaming on the official Reggae Sunsplash YouTube channel on Friday, November 27 beginning at 17:30 ET.

The stay 20-minute salute to Jamaica’s famend ‘Crown Prince of Reggae’ will embody video clips of Brown’s legendary appearances at earlier Reggae Sunsplash occasions along with performances by fellow musicians, a heartfelt video that includes the Dennis Brown Household, and provoking messages of remembrance from artists featured on the Reggae Sunsplash 2020 line-up.

“Brown was a real Jamaican icon and was one of many first musicians to affix the unique line-up on the inaugural Reggae Sunsplash pageant in 1978,” stated Donovan White, Jamaica director of tourism.

“He helped form the pageant and it is just becoming that Reggae Sunsplash honour his legacy because the occasion returns this 12 months following a 14-year hiatus.”

Audiences from throughout the globe are invited to tune in to the high-energy Reggae Sunsplash 2020 digital pageant on Friday, and Saturday to take pleasure in can’t-miss performances from dozens of main reggae and dancehall artists.
